i fell over the other day. it was extremely embarrassing and i have two sets of cuts to prove it; on my wrist and on my leg. i had a mad dilema abot the two bandaids in my wallet because one was skin colour and one was a simpsons bandaid which was very distinct and drew lots of attention to wherever it was stuck, and since i didnt want anyone to look at my legs it was stuck on my wrist, where it looked like i had tried to suicide!! just my luck.
i went to church today and lucky for me, i have no french class tomorow.. in every class our teacher gives us 10 minutes to talk to the person next to us: Qu'avez-vous fait ce week-end? what did you do this weekend? and i would have nothing to say but that i went to church (j'allais au l'eglise) and for the whole day (9~8) and then he/she would go, oh, so are you very religious? (+'_'+)
there is something about that word "religious" that i just truly hate. how can there be "religions" in Jesus? it is a mere category, one that idly boxes God, Buddha and other the others into a word, which cannot be~ i think God must also hate the word Religion also. it is a depiction of disobedience and idolatry.
i was so challenged my this verse: "He who rebukes a man will in the end gain more favour than he who has a flattering tongue." (proverbs 28:24 NIV) it is a completly good and true verse. good ol' solomon~ i have many a time should have rebuked when i had the chance. at JAMA there were these speakers from america, whose church allows all types of practice to continue in their church, that their church had a nice "free attitude" where no one was forced to think anything, that you didnt need to attend any care groups and you "take your own time learning." after that i was quite worried about my own church. if it should ever become like that i would move churches. what is a church without definition, or correction, or rebuke? that is no church, that is a community social centre. anyway rebuke is good! it is like salt on a wound. perhaps that is why we are the salt of the earth ~ REBUKE! it is the most edifying thing in the world. what better way to be a better person?
